About Micheal Adegoke BACKGROUND:
Michael
moved to the United States along with his 10 family members in 1983. His
dance career began in 1989 when he started dancing Hip-Hop with Pazazz
(Minnesota award winning dance choreographer). In 1991, Michael and Pazazz unique dance style caught the attention
of the International Artist known as ‘Prince’ who immediately requested for
both to come on stage to perform with him. This was the beginning of many dance
performances with the group. In
1992, Michael signed a contract with Eclectic Dance Company and Eugene Nickols
&Talent Company performing in over 60-show dance presentations.
In
2001, Michael stumbled into the salsa scene through a friend who invited him
out. Labeled as the worst salsa dancer on the scene for many months, he
determined to learn salsa on his own. Michael ordered over $300.00 worth of salsa and ballroom dance videos,
and started training himself four hours a day in a mini dance studio he created
at home.
Five
months later, Michael returned to the same salsa scene ready to burn the floor
with his new salsa moves. Michael
met Lisa Zamarripa that night and requested a dance. Their dancing was magical
as they took over the dance floor with an awesome performance.
Mesmerized
by their dancing together, Lisa immediately requested to have Robert Foster,
three-time U.S Rhythm and World Dance Champion, work with them. Seeing
the potential in Michael, Robert devoted time to training Michael and
Lisa. In addition, Robert brought
in other World Dance Champions such as Tony Dovalani, Dimtry Chaplin and Tony
Karadjov (Bulgarian Dance Champion) to provide training.
Performing
their first ballroom show dance together in 2002, Michael and Lisa took second
place beating other United States professionals who have been dancing for many
years. Since then, Michael and Lisa have been traveling the states
winning other dance shows.
Michael
and Lisa continue to amaze audiences with their dance moves, passion, charisma
and creativity. Today, they are in
great demand to both teach and perform at various events.
